Business leaders oppose Daley's 50 % tourism funding cut (Chicago Tribune)

Business leaders today came out against Mayor Richard Daley's idea to cut funding by 50 percent for the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau. The city gave a $1 million grant to the group this year, but that figure would drop to $500,000 next year under the mayor's budget proposal. Aldermen are scheduled to vote on the budget Dec. 2.
